Over time

Ever realize one day that something which shaped who you are (or rather who you were) is gone?

Something as subtle as the graffiti that you used to ponder on your walk to work everyday. Or the gummie airplanes and dinosaurs you used to eat for lunch for a good 12 years of your life. What about that song you had that suddenly went corrupt one day and kept slipping your mind to replace…

These things were all part of my reality at one point or another, and I never realized they were gone. Until today that is.

The saying “out of sight, out of mind” is amazingly accurate for me. And I think it is unfortunate. I think it is an unfortunate result of the life in which I live. I’d call it the ‘google’ generation. Everything I could ever want I can find in fractions of a second thanks to google, the internet, and technology in general. I don’t need to remember things anymore.
If you looked at me as a computer you could say I’ve been running more and more off of my RAM and less and less off of my actual hard drive. I have instant access to everything so I have to hold on to nothing…
Just a thought about all those things you didn’t know you had…. even after they are gone.

Wow Buddy, I have to agree, but the best part about this. Now you have more hard drive space for the more important things. You can fill up on more media and less operating system =)

True, but with more internet bandwidth will come less storing of media on local drives….

So my local drive will only me my OS… but.. but.. but… I’m so confused.
