Winter is coming. I can feel it. I’m actually a little excited for it. I think only because Christmas is coming as well. After Christmas winter can kiss my ass.

But even still, the winter season kind of excites me. I like the idea of being couped up inside a warm house drinking hot chocolate and hibernating for a few months. That’s the ultimate catch however, I only like the ‘idea’ of it. In practice winter actually sucks. You need to clear the snow off your car before you can drive. Not to mention the fact that the car is going to be freezing for the first ten minutes you’re inside it anyway. Your socks get wet on the way to work and you have to spend the rest of the day with damp socks. The days get darker and general ‘happy’ levels fall across the country.
It seems to me that us Canadians have it backwards. Winter (as in anything cold) should be something you visit, not somewhere you live. Live warm, visit cold. Makes sense to me! All the good things anyone ever says about winter can be experienced in one week of vacation. There’s no need to spend 4 months of hell for only a few moments of heaven.
I’m moving to Mexico. Man I wish the States wasn’t such a cesspool.
