Hey Everyone.

I though I would write and tell you all about the Ottawa Outdoor skating map I have created here > Ottawa Skating Map Site.

Basically it lists all the outdoor skating maps in Ottawa on a google map. It tells you about rink properties. Like it they have lights, bathrooms or supervision.

After finishing it someone suggested I write to the city of Ottawa. Which I did today. I have included the letter below.

I just wanted to let you know I have built a tool to view all the Ottawa skating rinks on a map. I think it does a good job and just wanted to let you guys see it in hopes that maybe the city will build something like this into their site one day.

I’m new to Ottawa and found your site that lists out all the addresses for rinks informative but hard for someone who does not know their neighborhood, let alone the whole city.

I thought maybe you can use my idea as a starting point and go somewhere with the concept.

The site is http://ottawaskating.khyte.com/. I have even included the Canal on the map too. This map uses Google technologies and their open API for mapping.
